Advice on this Z4M Coupe, please

Here are the stats:

2007 Z4M Coupe
Color:Titanium Silver Metallic
Int. Color:Black
Mileage:15,305
VIN:5UMDU93417LM08083

List: $39,995
Sales Price: $36,900

Trade offer on my 2007 3.0si: $21,000 going by Black Book (seems disgustingly low!) 15,000 miles, clean as a whistle

Is it priced right? Am I getting raped on my trade?

Here's the car in question. Lease turn in. Replaced two rear tires. A couple of minor scratches on right front wheel which the say will be fixed.

the Mcoupe seems to be a decent deal, but the trade in value for your car appears abnormally low, the KBB trade in value on your car is in the mid to high 20's

IS the MC certified? Is it loaded? You have 3k more left in the deal unless they want to certif the car. Push back walk let them call you trust me that is high in this market. + if they certif car and you finance car you get deeper rate

The MC is CPO, no NAV, with extended leather. I just walked telling him my trade was too low and the MC price needed to drop a little more. I told him about the economy and his come back was that new car sales are down and pre-owned prices are up which is why they will not discount more. Ya right.... I told him to call back if wanted to pursue the deal further.

Yep, that's what KBB values my car at. They insist on Black Book value.

You're doing the right thing by walking. Let it sit on their lot costing them money for a couple/few months then see how they feel. Remember, they need to sell it lots more than you need to buy it.

Trade-in offers are always hideously lowballed at first. The M price seems a bit high, but it has extended leather, a VERY desirable (and equally rare) option, that alone would push it way up my list. And no nav, which I also consider a plus.. YMMV.

Carefully research what your car is worth - check current Manheim auction prices (you can probably get help with that here, or in the Z-car forum at Bimmerfest) and work them until you reach an acceptable figure. They deserve to earn a profit on the trade, but not excessively so. Good luck.. you won't regret scoring the M if you can pull this off!

I think the Z4MC price should go down a bit.
For comparison, I purchased mine with 5k on the clock for $39k back in August, 2008.

It sounds to me like you are getting snowed on your trade value. I would shop it a bit, at least check autotrader and a few other dealers to see if that is reasonable in your area.

No dealer goes by blue book. Manheim Auction value is what they go by. Why would a dealer buy your car for a higher price than what they can get it at auction for? Research the actual value of your car and then proceed.

Dont think it is priced right. Manheim prices for convertibles are 23 to 27k !!
http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthre...hlight=manheim
So this one, however nice, should be max. 31-32k I think

I bought my 2007 Titanium Silver M Coupe with 23K miles last week for 34K OTD. That means I got the car for 31K. The car has Nav, Prem Pkg, and heated seats. The nav really sucks, but given the tight space in the cabin, I think it's a coin toss between installing an aftermarket one.

SCORE!!!

Just put down a deposit for a CPO 2007 Z4MC, Alpine White/Black Napa, extended leather with 19k miles. Will pick her up Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed that the deal doesn't fall through. Thanks to all of you for your advice. Pics to follow soon, hopefully....

edit:

Oh yeah, got it for $32,900
