Question on the light next to the Shifter
The yellow light is always on next to the Steptronic shifter, even when the car is off and locked. Is this normal?
I just finished reading the manual, and it has all of the info for an Alarm. Yet, when I lock the car, the clwon nose under the Auto Mirror does not blink....do we, or do we not have alarms. My 135 Vert was built early March, and just got it. Thank you |

Thanks for the reply. Mine looks more like a Orange color, but my eyes are getting old! I did notice that when you shut the car off, that little light next to the shifter will remain on for a while, and will then shut off after quite a while (minutes, not hours)....not sure what it's purpose is, as I can't find any explaination in the manual.
Guess we also do not have any type of Factory Installed Alarm, and that red clown nose just sort of sits there. |

It is normal, I believe all BMWs have it. My 3ser and Z4 had the light as well. I do not know a purpose remaining it on when car is off. I can guess that it reflects that car electronic is still on, like iPod, it can go in deep sleep, or light sleep. So if the light is on, then electronic is in light sleep.
