Do you have a link to the Aero bumper? Also, right under the fangs where the RPI skid plates are attached, there is a black piece of plastic that attaches to the bottom of the bumper. Basically the two 8mm screws go right through the bottom of the front bumper and into this plastic.
The previous owner landed front end hard on something and the black plastic is cracked. Do you guys have any part information on this black plastic piece? Thanks! |

What about the brake ducts you will lose with changing the bumper? I think I would learn how to drive the car over bumps and steap incline/decline transitions before I went and changed the bumper...not to mention you will destroy resale value (further than the economy already has)! Seriously, drive slow and take transitions at a 45 degree diagonal. It will take a little practice but it is no problem. My Fangs are just over 2 inches of the ground with my coilovers and i don't scrape.
If you must change, look at the Hamman (spelling?) front bumper.

Looks easy, 8 screws it seems, should be possible to turn the wheel inward to access the inside ones. I have the right one in the garage to replace on the weekend due to impact with an ice ball a week or two ago (one of those ice chunks that fall out of the wheel well of trucks).

You can retrofit M front bumpers on non-M's but I'm not sure you can do it the other way around. When you put the M bumper on a non-M, there's about half an inch of gap at the bottom so you couldn't really tighten down the bottom of bumper with the original bolts. It'd still work fine without those bottom bolts because the top bolts at the front of the engine bay hold the front bumper just fine.
When you put a non-M bumper on the M I think the non-M bumper might be too short to fit.

Agreed.
1. He will destroy value of car far worse than scraped fangs. Could any of you imagine buying this car from him with this sort of swap? 2. No brake ducting for the CSL brakes- ???? 3. The M variant of the Z4 has tons of creases and lines and the front bumper matches it. The aero bumper would not look good on our cars. It looks great on a regular Z4 non-m. Seriously, if this is really a problem for you, please reconsider if this car is right for you. IMHO.
