Just bought an M vert.....I want to introduce myself and ask a few ????

Hello everyone, my names Matt. I have been on this forum for awhile and have learned a lot. I sold my 335i sedan about 4 months ago and have been looking for something else for awhile now. I stumbled across a z4 ///M on Monday. Its an 06sapphire black on black with only 16k miles. Anyways, I bought it and its being shipped to me in MS from CA. I had a friend of mine (who works at a BMW dealership) run an options report on it. I knew before hand that it had the premium package, nav, heated seats, and the hifi sound, but I was wanting to know if it had extended leather or not. The options list shows it to have 4MY as an interior option code and the upholstery shows Lederaus Walknappa/Schwarz (LSSW). Does anyone know if thats extended leather? The interior looks great with the carbon fiber, but I cant tell from the pics whether or not it has extended leather. Also, I was told that it stickered for around or a bit above 60k......is that even possible?

by the sounds of the sticker price it has extended leather,
My sticker was $61k and mines fully fully loaded, nothing that couldn't be added and that was the price,

For more info on extended leather and to be 100% sure you have it check my thread

Garage List
The only way you could have ecplised $60k is with extended leather.. a VERY desirable (and very rare) option btw. Good luck and congrats on your new purchase.. you'll love the car!

Yup it is very rare,
Even on a non M its very rare, and as everyone said to eclipse the $60k mark it would have to be there (unless it had weird dealer installed options totaling over $3k)

I checked my build sheet for my car and the code is different,

the extended leather code on mine is "LTSW- Black Extended Nappa Leather"
04MY is the code for Carbon Leather from my build sheet

do you have a link to the pics of your car?
I'd know in a heatbeat as I'd know what to look for (and so would you if my bloody bandwidth wasn't exceeded!)

According to this,
LTSW is for Extended, and LSSW is for non extended leather,

If LSSW is on your build sheet you don't have extended leather

Hmmm. Ok, thats whats on my build sheet. I guess I dont have the extended leather....no biggie for me. I dont have any links to pics yet. I will take delivery of the car on sunday afternoon or monday morning. I'll let you know then. I guess it has every option but the extended leather. At least it has the carbon....thats a really nice option.

Congrats and welcome to the //M club. Roadster or Coupe? I have always thought if I ordered a Bmw from California...that I would want to be in a chase car keeping an eye on my baby on the carriers trailer.

Thanks. Its a roadster. The company picking it up is a local company that runs from Atlanta to San Francisco once a month. Im sure they will take care of it.

I received a phone call yesterday afternoon from the shipping company. They said that the car is basically new with no known problems.......so that means that it is exactly how BMW financial of San Francisco described it to me. I cant wait to drive it. I ordered the cdv delete yesterday

Compared to the 335i 6spd w/sport package, will this M out handle/out run it? What are some of the noticable difference besides the obvious? Will the ride be much stiffer? Will it be more fun to drive?

I have an E90 sport as a DD and although it handles awesome its night and day compared to any Z4 Esp an M,

The M is stiffer, but not by much Ive noticed over an E9x with sport package,
It is a lot of fun to drive, It might get tiresome as a DD however,
I'm not sure I'd love my M as much if I had to drive it everyday,
But it will outhandle the 3 series with ease and its faster too regardless of what 335i owners tell you, Feels more agressive too when it accelerates and hits 4K+

Ive found when comparing the 2, my 3 series is much zippier around town and low down revs (although high revs are still strong and fun)
But the M has a much more dramatic feel when you really get on it and take the engine above 4K up to 8,
and the noise is pretty incredible with the top down

Bottom line,
You won't be dissapointed!

Thanks very much. Thats exactly what I wanted to hear. Is the cdv delete as valuable as everyone says? I ordered it because I want to be able to shift fast sometimes and not look like an idiot. Is the cdv all that its cracked up to be?

I have the modified CDV on my car and its a lot smoother,
Just make sure you bleed the clutch line or it will feel very soft and spongy
