How do I remove this panel?
so i finally found where ive been having water coming into my trunk. the only issue is, i cannot figure out how to remove the panel that needs to be taken out.
the panel is circled in red which is right above the trunk lid and right below the end of the top (it is painted). i found 4 torx bolts in the trunk area (circled in red) and removed them. but the panel still does not budge. any idea on how to take this panel off? i checked realoem.com and it doesnt look like it has any other bolts to remove. the only other bolts i found in that area are for the top itself and not part of this panel. any help is appreciated! |

I'm pretty sure that's not really a "panel" that can be removed. I have a feeling its part of the car.
But good luck to you and keep us posted! I think your other alternative is the removal of the soft top itself but that looks like a LOT of work and pretty risky business.

i figured out what was holing it on. the 4 bolts that are accessible when you open the trunk need to be removed. and also, you have to remove the weather stripping that attaches to the top and wraps around the edge of that panel. once you remove the weather stripping, there are another 4 bolts underneath that need to be removed.
