Auto-tilt passenger side mirror

I recently took delivery of my 2009 128conv

AW
Sport
Xenon
Heated
Manual
BMW Assist

My CA told me that the auto-tilt is an available feature, but I can not seem to get it to work - I tried both ways with the button on the driver and passenger - but the side mirror would not tilt down.

Is there a setting I need to do? Or does it neet to get fixed? Or not a feature at all? Appreciate any help.

Think you have to get the premium package, as mine does not have that feature.

Check your owner's manual for "Auto Curb Monitor" (p.43 in the 2008 manual). If you have the button labelled "3" for folding the side mirrors in and out, then you should also have the curb monitor (auto-tilt). But I believe it is only included with the Premium Package.

I'm pretty sure this is correct. The mirrors need to have the memory option to be able to return to the correct position after tilting.

Thanks for the response. Not a big deal, I could always tilt the mirror when doing parallel parking.

Other than that, the car is awesome!

It is a neat thing to have, and I don't understand why it isn't a $100 stand alone option, as it would seem to only require some programming to implement. Since I had already decided on the leather and power seats, and I wanted the lumbar support and homelink, I ordered the Premium Package - but it is overpriced.

put the mirror adjust switch in either the passenger or the driver side and then when you go into reverse it should automatically

I wonder if a retrofit is doable. What would it take? the addition of a button and some programming via a technician's computer?

The mirrors have to have some sort of postion feedback built in to make this work. The standard mirrors probably don't have it. Same goes for the seat memory.

It's a separate option in Europe. I have it and I don't have power seats or memory.

My European 1 Convertible has it to.
The car is equipped with folding mirrors and vanity mirrors.
I just found out you can activate it by switching the position of the left/right button (mirror adjustment)...
you have the option of NOT having the mirror tilt when you need it to retain its set position (switch in right position).
And it tilts if the switch is in left position.

Is it possible to adjust how much it titls down? I want it to tilt it a little more.
