It's officially an epidemic, another new 1 owner

After lurking here for months, I at last have a 1 of my own. I bought the car from New Motors BMW in Erie, PA about 5 weeks ago. My CA was Jim Wozniak, who many of you may know as a board sponsor over on the 'Fest. Jim had advertised a 135 'vert lease special over there that grabbed my attention, and as it happened he actually had a couple of other '08 135 'verts that he offered the same deal on. I had a 4 week long debate about whether to pull the trigger on it, and finally decided to buy a plane ticket up there from NC to make the deal. After a 13 hour drive home through snow, sleet and rain, stopping every 30 minutes to let the car cool, and undoubtedly annoying half of PA, WV, and VA with my changing cruising speeds I made it home safe with the new addition.

I had a hell of a time taking the plunge. I've owned a 2005 GTO for the last 2 years, and had no real desire to part with it. That said, recent life changes (a longer commute and a live in GF who can't drive a manual) and the great lease deals on the '08 leftover cars won me over in the end. I feel lucky to have found a car that was very close to what I would have ordered, let alone at a dealer with a client advisor who was well-versed in doing out of state purchases.

The car is amazing, and for now I'll keep it short and just say that all of the praise that the 135 has received is fully justified.

My thanks go out to everyone here, after months of lurking, thinking, and building cars on the configurator I can say that all the anticipation was worth it, and I'm glad to be here as an owner.

Love that color (and I have one too!). I'd definitely go get some shots of it under direct sunlight, as the blue sky really allows this color to shine!

Congrats. I also went from an '05 GTO to a 135i. You'll miss it from time to time (like on really long road trips for example) , but the 1 is a load of fun, and can be made very fast for very cheap, if you're into that sort of thing.
