found a glaring flaw

After 3 weeks with the 1, I have found it, the deal breaker...I have to share...

...the gap between the seats and the central console is just too big...I am always losing phones and voice recorders and pens and headphones and business cards down there. How could BMW overlook that!!!! I am deeply dismayed by this, I don't think 300hp is going to make me happy.

seriously... I'm glad the gap is actually slightly larger than my G35... otherwise when I do drop something, I have to have my GF with her small hands get it... Plus it's going to happen in ANY car

This has to be a joke! If not, put your cell phone, voice recorder and pens away when driving. Otherwise, you deserve to lose them.

Actually as I put my map (atlas) there on long trips, I'm happy with it. My maps tend to get torn up in the smaller space in my E46. However, my wife complains that jewelry, etc. easily drops down there and that "your car has eaten my earring again!"

Seriously, it isn't that large of a gap.

You not riding public transportation or taxi, so losing it in there does not make any difference as you can go back and get it.

I find it to be a perfect location for my zune to keep it out of sight when I leave my car in a parking lot so if someone looks inside they see nothing to steal

Wow... I'd say just go ahead an sell it. Taking a resell hit on return is definitly worth getting rid of that nasty gap there!
