Question on AA Pulley belts

So i went to get my pulley installed today but it could not be done because the shorter front side belt was the same size as the OEM belt. Shouldn't the belt should be shorter to compensate for the pulleys smaller design? My car is pre 06/08 build and i have the correct longer single sided belt. Do they have different sized short double sided belts? I'll have to call them tomorrow but i find it odd that i didn't get a correct shorter belt which i believe is the same on all M3 build dates.

I don't know about the shorter belt but the Alternator belt is definitely shorter than OEM. It would barely fit with 2 people torquing as hard as possible. The other side (shorter side) was much looser but not to the point of throwing the belt.

I did the Mod. And I like it. I'll never do something like this again. Stretching that belt was abusive. It took two guy's with that and it was a pain...I hope putting in a rear muffler is easier....

Glad you liked the AA pulleys. It's a great mod for our cars. Enjoy!

When we were installing the pulley, we looked up the belt info on CIS. Apparently, the CIS flipped the two pictures of the older belt vs the newer belt. This got us confused a good old 30 mins before we finally figured it out. We found the instructions from AA completely useless.

Kev,

Did you post a DIY up? I am going to be installing the pulley this coming weekend.
