135 fart sound from exhaust question??

I just hit 1k miles on my 135 and started getting on it. When ever I give it 3/4 pedal or more and take it past 6k rpm there is a weird fart sound coming from the exhaust when I shift. It's mainly in 1st to 2nd shifts. Anyone else experience this? It sounds to me like some back pressure, which I know is not good for turbo cars. But, I don't remember my buddies 335 sounding like this when he first got it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just want to make sure that it's something normal. The car seems to be pulling hard, so it leads me to believe that its nothing bad.

Thanks guys

As opposed to squeaky high fart?

Your talking about that burble below 1500 RPM when the car is cold right? Its perfectly normal, it happens to me every morning.

Is it only me that actually likes the fart sound, preferably from the exhaust? =)

Does it remind you of the "Dirty Raoul", or is it more "Brown Mosquito"?

I've heart two different things on this topic:
a) it's the motor cutting spark on upshifts: handled by the ECU
b) it's a small backfire

"A" had been suggested to me by a friend with an audi a3 2.0t with the DSG gearbox. He gets a similar sound on upshifts. For more info on that opinion, google "DSG fart". It's discussed on several forums.

yea I did just install some downpipes but this sound had been happening from the day I picked up the car. It has become less frequent now but still every once in a while when I punch it it will make that fart sound when I shift

when you lift off the throttle the diverter valves release boost pressure

it's very noticeable if it happens when your passing a van or big car
