If you track/autocross your car, do suspension/tires/brakes first. If you just like to go fast on the highway... do a tune.

Thats the old Pirelli slogan. So I guess your saying buy a set a PZeros then right?
I went tires first. I actually have a set of Pilot Sport PS2s sitting in my kitchen right now. Waiting for the weekend when I have time to mount em. I was about to buy wheels...but finances got in the way, hopefully in a month or two I can get some nice wheels than the 264s. And if your shallow get a CF Spoiler and Performance sideskirts. |

in retrospect I wish I would have purchased coilovers FIRST and then my direzza star specs as soon as possible thereafter. Tunes are great but the overall feel of the car with coilovers is much better IMO

Always lay the groundwork with suspension/tires first. If you do a tune and are punching out a lot more power, you really will need to upgrade the suspension anyway.

Tough for me to say what I did first as I did it all in one week but I started with coilovers, then 2 hours later did the tune/intake/scoops, then 2 hours later did the wheels

I'm pretty surprised that more people aren't saying go non-runflat rubber first, and find it interesting how tune first is still leading in the poll. Keep the votes coming!
Woops. I knew I should have added an "Other" category.

Logically I'd go with Tires > Suspension > Engine.
But you will feel a bigger difference going Suspension > Engine > Tires. You will feel a MAJOR difference will coilovers and the tune. The RFT are crap compared to sticky non RFT, but it won't be night and day compared to the 2 others. A big difference yes, but not as much as the two others IMO. Of course LSD is great, but $$$ especially if you a 6MT... |

I think my order will be something like:
cdv, exhaust, suspension, brake pads, oil, fluid, rims/tires, intercooler, oil cooler (maybe), chip/flash, then maybe downpipes and midpipes

Suspension for me...my last car was lighter, had LSD...it was FWD, but I think the lighter weight actually made it easier to handle.

just like my Zed...i plan on putting on sticky non-RFT's shortly after getting the car. then swap them back about 10k before turn-in.

I didn't vote because I waffle, but my opinion differs. If you are going Dinan, probably a good idea to get it early to make the most of their warranty, as it covers the remainder of the BMW warranty. If not, the stock rfts are pretty bad.

I had the BMW performance SSK installed as part of the purchase. To me, the most direct involvement I have with my car is shifting, and the SSK has improved this quite a bit.
