New E92 owner

I just received my 08 Space Gray E92 a few weeks ago. I come from a completely different world, the corvette world. That being said, I do not have much knowledge about the m3 in the performance mod area. I do miss the insane power and beauty of the corvette, but the m3 is a far more advanced and incomparable machine.

What are some beginning mods for the m3 (aside from reflectors and tints, blah, blah)...I'm talking performance.

I do have a limited amount to spend as I am a student and I do not work. So what is the best bang for the buck?

Mods with ballpark prices please....

Thanks in advance

Congratulations, and, wow! All I could afford at that age was a broken down beat up Honda Civic (the little micro ones from the 70s)....

On to the questions....I think you'll find the answers to your questions on this sticky that Pencilgeek set up.

IMO, the Active Autowerke ECU and Pulley offer a pretty good bang for the buck...Lots of positive reviews on that (one just yesterday). Those are the first two performance mods on my "to do" list.

Enjoy your M3!

Talking Congrats on your M3 first of all and welcome to the World of M

Well I will try to direct you a little in the mod direction. once you enter the M3 mod world there is no turning back. the cheap performance mods you can do is a airfilter mod, AA, AFE, and others this will cost you less than $100.00 and you can get yourself some RPI Scoops $100.00 + a few dollars then in the $350-$500 you can get a pulley and for less than a $1000.00 you can get a AA ECU Software up grade and if you still got $1200.00 spend you can get a Remus Race exhaust if you like the sound of horse power your corvette had or you can get a Remus sport exhaust and tone down the sound a little Now all you need to do is find a good vender or venders on this site you may not have to find them they might find just find you either way good luck

100-octane, no-lead, 100% petroleum fuel will give you around 30-hp at the wheels. At $7+ per gallon you don't want to use it all the time, but it's really cheap power when you know you've got an "event" where you'll need it. Sunoco and Union 76 are a couple of the best brands with low or no ethanol.

I had a 2007 C6 with a whole bunch of mods. It was one of the sickest looking C6's in Houston. I wish I could have kept it along with the m3. Here are some pics:
