HPFP Poll
There has been much discussion about the HPFP failures on the 1ers. I was just over on the BMWCCA site and there was a question about the percentage of 1ers that have had HPFP failures.........So let's see what the percentage is ( polls are fun )

I currently have 15,000 miles and not a single problem yet. I saw 10 people mentioned that they had HPFP failure but see no post from them to briefly described their experience like with mod or no mod and at what miles, build date .... etc.

Got the warranty letter in the mail good for over 100k miles - this is a non-issue probably created by a bunch of modOmaniacs who hide their mods going into the dealer to make it look like - "it was just stock dude - i swear". never mind the 450hp it kicked out only a week ago.
its the pump dude trust me i'm a cop |

Don't be insulting. My car has under 8,000mi, bone stock, only good gas, only BMW maintenance. Every time I hit the start/stop button the car feels like it will explode.

This is the comment I worry about. These polls are useless unless we get a follow-up one in a few months for just the people who said "All good here, captain." Mine is still good at 6,000 miles, but what about 10,000 and 16,666?

FYI: N54 = Engine of the Year in many mags some multiple years. Crossing fingers I don't get a failure driving home from work today. |

The damn car fails to start EVERY DAY! That's not in my head. BMWNA is extending many warranties to cover the pump. It is a serious issue that is widespread but it is true that the majority of owners will not have the pump fail. But for those of us who are unlucky, we have a car that will not function whatsoever.

I had 15,000 on my 08 335, no pump failure.
I now have 7000 on my 09 135, it failed around the 3000 mile mark. Both were / are absolutely stock. I want to mopdify mine, but I've got to finish my other project car first. Also, I want to make sure nothing is wrong with the car for a while before I mod it. -bg8 |

I got a lot of work to do if my HPFP should die on me.. I have a few mods that 'might' void the warranty.
How much does a new Fuel Pump cost anyway? My mileage is at 6,680 now. I've been running my car modded for 4,000 miles at least. So far so good. |

Can we add a option for "working but not very well"
I only ask because my car has had a few long cranks, and has been knocking like crazy on cold starts. |

I just replaced mine at 27,000k NO mods. I had long cranks for about 3 months before I had it replaced. No problems so far....it's just been 4 days? If the resale didn't suck so bad I WOULD TRADE! I'm still waiting on my dash?
