ESS N/A Tune - Review to Come

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know, that over the weekend, I had ESS flash my car with their new N/A (naturally aspirated) tune that they are just now about to release. I have only driven about 50 miles on it so far, so the computer is still learning. So far, so good. I will have a full review, and hopefully some numbers soon!

to my knowledge, the car doesnt have to learn anything. If anything at all, within 10 miles it should be completely configured to run properly with whatever gains they advertise.

This is what I was told by a few different people regarding how the AA software works, and I assume that this would work in the same way.

According to AA, it takes 50-100 miles for the computer to fully learn the new parameters...

he is right...mine is still learning I guess....I know there is more potential for my car...looking to see what happens when I have the full system done. I ran an E55 AMG and I was on his tail the whole time...that is pretty good in my eyes!

I also have a full exhaust and AFE filter, so the computer is still compensating for these, and adjusting.

it doesn't take longer because you have more mods.

Really? Are you sure about that? It seems to me that if the tune was meant for a completely stock car, it would take less time to adjust for the completely stock car. Putting a tune on a car with mods that is meant for a completely stock car, should take longer.

I am not sure how much they claim. We will see when they put my car on the dyno.

It just has to adjust. It doesn't take different amounts of time to adjust "more or less".

I think it does. Too bad no one here really knows how the BMW ECU works.

It takes about 50-100 miles for the DME to adapt and figure things out. On a stock car and 91 octane fuel gains should be about 15HP on 93 between 15-20HP. The software is designed to improve the overall performance of the engine, raise the RPM limit and remove the top speed govornor. other options are also available for cat delete and customers who want custom tuning.

Did you read above? It WILL take a few miles on the odo before it is completely configured correctly.

To be honest I was on the track shortly after the install so not completely sure at what point everything was configured.
That said, the result is awesome when you do roll on comparisons.
