Supersprint x-pipe - Thoughts?
Here:
http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...DUCT_ID=980713 Would this be bolt on? I'm looking for something to give me a little more sound. Adding horsepower is less important, but I feel I need a little more rasp to my stock system and this seems like a cost effective way to get to where I want to be. Being able to return to stock is my biggest concern as my car is leased. I could install this myself with a buddy providing its bolt on. Edit: I would be trying to connect this to my stock exhaust system. Would this even fit? What do you guys think? Thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

That is only part of the Supersprint x-pipe. There are other sections to it. The problem with their x-pipe is, it only ties into their rear exhaust section. If you look at that picture, it turns at the end instead of having a ball flange section like stock, or every other x-pipe. Basically, they want you to buy their whole system, just in many parts.

I think it is a rip.... For less $, you can get the Fabspeed X Pipe which also replaces the secondary cats. Much better power gains and less $.

Edit: Nevermind, found the fabspeed thread and looks like cutting/welding is involved. Can anyone recommend on that bolts up?

They all require cutting and welding. (including the Super Sprint) Unless you get the header back systems with high flow cats. (like I have). This replaces the primaries with super high flow HJS cats. No secondaries. No cutting. No welding. You gain a bunch of power and tone. No codes.

Gintani Active Autowerke Encore Riss Racing Probably others Do some research on the above, but I know there are a few that bolt on without any cutting, etc. Some have High Flow primary cats, some have no cats. You WILL get a check engine light if you eliminate the cats and do not have an O2 simulator. From what I have heard, the models with the high flow cats are efficient enough to NOT set off the check engine light.

We've sold:
-Active AutoWerke -Agency Power -Riss Racing The Agency Power is the only one that I'm not 100% sure about. It has bolt-on flanges at the headers but doesn't appear to ad the other end. Hope this helps! JL |

You will need a full x-pipe of you need it to be bolt on. I suggest the Active Autoworke one.

Here is a photo of the AA X-pipe with Eisenmann Race performance. Full bolt on with no cutting. Keep in mind that you will need to run software with the most X-pipes.

The Fabspeed Xpipe and high flow cats is a direct bolt on. I have no codes. It is also about a grand less than the AA setup.
Is there one good reason why someone would spend a grand more for a setup that does set codes? Fabspeed X Pipe = no cutting or welding, no codes. $2295 including cats AA Xpipe = no cutting or welding, but confirmed codes. $1995 with no cats. Cats are about $1200 extra as originally quoted. Fabspeed uses HJS 200 cell tri metal cats. These are very pricey but uber efficient. No codes. I have had mine for 2 months and I drive everyday.

Does the Fabspeed use the factory style flanges to the headers, that re-use the stock donut gasket? I had to have this, and from my research, AA was one of the only ones that did this. I am not sure on the Fabspeed pipes though. Also, I got the AA pipes w/ high flow cats used, for cheaper than the Fabspeed.
I have not had any CEL yet with the AA pipes and high flow cats. I have probably driven a good 200-250 miles. Hopefully one does not pop up. -Andy

Plus the AA pipes us a v-band connection mid way, which I like. Some others use slip fit, which is hard to swap out if wanted, and some use 3 bolt flanges, which can leak.

Andy, stock header attachment and oem style flange on the connecting pipe connectors. Did you get your setup used? Hope you don't get a code. Let us know!

Well I orderd the Encore Innovation X-pipe but last post about it said I need to send it back as Encore is fixing the flanges to mate up correctly. I hope and wonder if anyone has had any CEL since install with the EI x-pipe?? If so I might have to return it all before I install it and get the Fabspeed system as I really don't want to deal with any CEL but want the entire exhaust system. Anyone with Encore Innovations X-pipe/high flow CATs have had any CEL issues since install?
For the OP, I think from what I'v read so far, either the Fabspeed system or Encore x-pipe systems sound optimul, if you don't want any CEL. As long as both don't through codes that is. |

I guess you could, but it is a little harder, and would look like you welded something back on. I guess that is not your problem though, if it is getting traded in!
