Wow! Sorry to hear that. I think this is first report of a HPFP being replaced 3 times!!! I would definitely pursue the Lemon Law. You really could have a bad one out of the bunch. Good luck!

I think after three I would look into it. That really sucks dude.
Hopefully, when dealerships are forced to report lemon law litigation to BMWUSA, this will be the catalyst necessary to final fix this problem once and for all. I wonder how many 335s have had three go. |

three times broken should trigger the LL. Good luck!
At the very least, I'd be looking for at least a couple of month's payments from BMW for all of your trouble.

In NJ its 3 times and you can submit a lemon law claim. I would get an attorney who specializes in these things. Don't worry, BMW will have to pay your legal fees; its the law. If the car is deemed a lemon the entire vehicle purchase price is refunded along with NJ sales tax paid.

I have 9k miles and the pump seems like it's about to go out. One of my friends' pumps has failed 4 times and we both caught different service advisers lying about the problems before we received the HPFP emissions warranty letter in the mail. This will be embarrassing for the SA's once the cars go back again for the latest generation pump.

with the lemon law remember remember that it is between you and BMWNA. the dealer is not the enemy and shouldnt have much to do with it.

I had my pump replaced already and occasionally I'm getting longer start times again. I'm not sure that this means anything, but unfortunately we're all super sensitive now to any little symptom.

I'm bringing in my car for the second time to check out my fuel pump. The first time they said it was fine(BS) so I'm bringing it to a different dealer this time. I'm getting the long crank start often now. Its sad when co workers are laughing at my new bmw barely starting when their older crappier cars start just fine

I called consumer affairs and they stressed that the letter mentioned in the link
above needs to be sent out before the final repair ie 3rd one in nj. I think that is bs since I would have to assume that it was the hpfp before hand. Either way I'm sure a lawyer could bypass that step if I decide to pursue this further. Technically the pump would have to stop working after the 3rd repair in nj to qualify. Ill keep u guys updated. I'm on my bb excuse the typos. |

i have and 09 135i and my car is in he shop as we speek for a HPFP, and the seatbelt locking for no reason when trying to put it on. my car has 6500 miles on it and the HPFP has been getting worse and worse, finaly the car trapped a code last week and they were now willing to change it when i've been telling them for 3 monthes that i think the FP has a problem... when i first got the car i was super excited and loved it to death now i really wish it would stop giving me broblems..
1. 2 front tires replaced cause BMW picked some shitty @ss RFT's that get bubbles on the side wall if you blow on them.. 2. my windsheild from day -1 because the dealer was to cheap to flat bed it in and decided to drive it 50 miles from NJ to NY on mayjor HWYS.. 3. my exhaust. 4. HPFP 5. seat belt locking mech.. 6.my radio only did it once but it completly locked me out and i couldnt even lower the volume untill i restarted the car... 7. ggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr Y BMW Y |

Did that drive damage the windshield? Which dealership? I thought those car transport trucks deliver directly to the dealers? I guess not. Perhaps you should have asked for a refund of your destination fee at a minimum.

It's really unfortunate, I love the performance and looks of this car, but I wish I did more research on the amount of maintenance required on these cars. I was looking to get an M3 as my next car, but now that is out of the question. I know other cars have issues from time to time, but this is too much in my opinion. On top of that I have to fight with the dealerships for a loaner and deal with bad customer service.

How strange is it that some owners have had to have more than one HPFP and others none? makes me wonder if it's something else triggering the problem.
