Back from the dead. Can anyone comment on fitment issues with the BMW performance exhaust and an aftermarket mid-pipe? Does the mid-pipe give an appreciable increase in sound w/ the BMW PE?

Yes, more grunt with 2nd cat eliminate mid pipes. I personally couldn't run with just the BMW performance system. Just still too quiet for my taste...this coming from someone with a Roush and longtubes and 5" race cans....

...and yes, my CPE midpipes bolted up to the axle back section of the performance exhaust. You may want to try just midpipes b/f the performance, as it bolts to axle back section, so the resonator section is eliminated with midpipes in any event...

Try mix it up with Maddad mid-pipes, I think it will amplify the sound by another 20-30% more.

Where exactly is the cutting done on the stock midpipe done to mount the perf exhaust? I havent had my car in the air in awhile to check. Im thinking about doing a bit of a frankenstein exhaust. AR Catted DPs, Berk Midpipes, and the perf exhaust that I already have.
