Better trees in cars than cars in trees. I like my wood trim - gives the car a jaunty, nautical feel.

If you want the nautical feel then you should get the maritime wood.

I think it looks pretty good, but tend to generally be behind the no wood idea.

I don't like the wood trim in a lot of cars but I think the dark wood trim that comes in the Z4Ms looks good.

Aside from carbon leather, what makes the M trim any different?

The M wood trim looks like a solid piece of dark cherry wood. The non-M Z4 wood trim looks like plastic.

Looking on Realoem there are at least 5 different wood trims, with some crossover between what it lists for an 04 3.0i, 06 3.0si, and an 06 M. Though without any pictures it's hard to know what each one looks like.

The REAL WOOD VERSION, PLANE TREE HIGH GLOSS is on all 3, I'm guessing that's the most common and the one you don't want. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref.do?part=51167053114

edit: the dark popular here looks kind of like want you want maybe http://www.bmwz4roadster.net/bmw_z4_dash.htm

Nope, none of those are it. Here's a pic of the Z4M wood trim:

Doesn't look like the wood is gonna happen so I'm down for trading for the Carbon Leather trim as well.
