Reliability of TPMS

How many of you do not fully trust TPMS and check their tire pressures on a regular basis. Since I just picked up the BMW a little over a month ago, because I have worked so closely with circuit boards in my life, i don't know if i can fully trust the digital sensors (if they are digital).

What are your thoughts everyone..
