Muffler Delete Advice.
My e92 M3 is landing in a couple of weeks.
Wondering if anyone has any advice on a Muffler Delete? Is there a drone? If so, at what speeds? Leaving the cats and resonators on the car and just adding tips. Input and advice would be great. Thanks. |

There are vids on youtube. It's pretty damn loud.
You'd be better off getting a mid-pipe. That way you'll get power and sound.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

thanks sammy...
at a local m3 meet, there was an e92 with this set up and it sounded really nice. I know I will lose a bit of back pressure but the sound is a bit addicting. |

I know. I meant it's not a Civic to drive without a muffler .

That would be blistering loud.. You're much better off ditching the cats and going for a rear muffler.

i also ran my B7 RS4 with no mufflers for about a month...loved it...saves alot of weight too!! although looked funny with the gap for the tips being empty....try it for a week just without mufflers and see how u like it...then if u do add the pipes out....id just make sure that theres nothing for the heat from the exhaust gas to melt of mess up

I was without a muffler on my car for 2 days, and it was a nightmare. I would never do it. This is coming from someone who loves loud and has a Riss Racing x-pipe and Eisenmann Race.

I ran no muffers on my GT3 and LOVED it.
However, the M3 aint a GT3 and will sound not-so-good. I would advise against it.

LOL
The db's and drone will melt your brain. I have had the displeasure of riding in a car with muffler delete and it is something I would never tolerate. Besides, I am almost sure you will lose power if you do this. Why do you want to take your exhaust to obnoxious noise levels? Just curious?

I'm looking for a beefy sound from the German V8...
I will lose power because the lack of back pressure from the muffler delete. moreover, this would be my weekend car and i do not plan on driving it everyday. At our local SF meet, there is an e92 M3 with the muffler delete and it sounded sick. |
