Most RS4 exhaust sound
My car is still a couple of months away. Man there are so many exhausts it is hard to sort out. I am coming from an RS4, which exhausts should I look at that would be non-raspy and would have a similar deep sonorous sound, as well as the downshift burble?
Thanks for any suggestions to get me looking in the right direction. |

Ordered the Gintani since I was all about finding the most aggressive and best sounding full catless exhaust system.
CAUTION: It may be tooooooo MUCH for most people......But not me. |

Remus Race or Sport if you want a more subtle sound. It defenitely reminds me of the RS4 in regards to the deep rumble you're looking for.

Eisenmann race..or tubi(had tubi on my rs4, only heard vids on m3 but sounds similar) both of these have a good burble on downshifts...and gintani muffler on heard briefly but close too

Eisenmann Sport will be closest sound you can get from M3.
But if you want same style sound as RS4 but more louder and aggressive tone, Eisenmann Race will do the job.

Tru dat!
The M3 has its very own special sound.......Which is gets absolutely INTOXICATING with an exhaust upgrade. The high-revving sound of the M3 will be more F1 like, most especially when you get to the extreme high rev range. |

RS4 is 8k redline... deeper and less raspy. M3 is a bit higher pitch near the end.

I personally think the M3 has the best sounding V8, period. Tone is perfect inside and out, at any revs; it just needs more volume outside, but no exhaust gives you just that, so I stayed stock (but with muffler painted flat black). I hate high-pitched, raspy exhausts, which is exactly how race/exotic cars sound (Ferraris, Lambos, etc). And yes, the M3 can sound like that with many exhaust systems, especially with resonators removed. Not my cup of tea at all, but I seem to be in the minority here . The M3 is the perfect blend of american (I'd include MB here too) and exotic V8 sound IMO. And right out of the box .

canadian driver- "With 420 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque - 90 per cent of which is available between 2,250 and 7,600 rpm - and an 8,250 rpm redline, the RS4 accelerates like a startled cat. " The Truth about cars - "More proof? In first gear, release the clutch without touching the go-pedal. You won’t stall. You’ll go. Also, a V8 with an 8,250rpm redline is mechanical heroin." sorry had to rep the rs4...loved that car

I have a neighbor with an RS4 and seriously considered one myself before getting the E90, and one of the things I liked the most was the deep/smooth tone of the exhaust. Has great presence at low rpm tolling around town without trying too hard. Although I have to say at high revs, the M3 beats it...

The C6 Z06 OEM exhaust was the first I've seen to utilize this technology in a stock system.

I personally wish my M3 would sound a little bit deeper in the low rpm range with a little more volume as well. The sound is so subdued in contrast to the exterior design of the car. It's as if it was a ferocious looking doberman but with the bark of a chihuahua.
