Exhaust choice and advice

Well. Here in my location there are few car tuner places and few choices on tuner parts. Well. I came accross this shop that offers 2 types of exhausts for my E92 M3. Both by supersprint. Now. The one piece is street performance and the 2 piece is race performance. Im all for the sound enhancement of the car. Not really carrying too much for the hp increase. I mean. Come on 414 is good enough for me. But sound wise I would like to know which one would be a better choice. I will provide the pictures of the two. Like I said. I will chose between one of the two. Just which one I got no clue since I cant be like install one than the other to see which one is louder. Also. Is it illegal to have race exhausts in the USA? I will be moving to South Carolina in February and kinda need to be on the lookout for stateside laws. Thanks in advance for all/if any comments or advice. Like I said. Im looking for a sound improvement towards the standard exhaust note. The louder the better. lol

I don't know exactly what you mean by "race" exhausts. Generally, if you delete the catalytic converters that's a no-no. I believe there are also state laws that are stricter than the federal laws. I believe the penalty in Maryland for mucking with your exhaust is life imprisonment and a million dollar fine. It used to be the death penalty but they're trying to do away with that here.

Ok ok. hold on. I was not trying to be funny with this. What you described is more like punishment for a mass murderer. But thanks anyway for the reply. Nope the cat is not going to be messed with. If you look at the picture the only thing changed will be the muffler. The cat and sound boxes or whatever they are called will be unharmed. lol.

race exhaust will be louder. Neither mess with emissions, so forget about that. If you would like a louder exhaust, then just get the race and don't look back. There are Federal noise statutes, and some states in the U.S. might be more strict than others, but I don't think you'd run into problems anywhere.

You said you want it loud, so just get the race. End of story.

Sorry, I was lampooning Maryland's stance on this. I think if you leave the cats in it should be ok.

I haven't heard either exhaust so I can't advise which one to get. But, the race is louder. If you can wait until you reach the states you will have more choices.

I had the race version of this exhaust.... for about a week. I didn't like it at all, it was quite annoying from inside the car. Although outside really sounded pretty good. Build quality is top notch. But the tone of this exhaust would just resonate like crazy from inside the cabin.

Just get the Gintani rear section if you want loud and keep all ur cats. You'll gain about 16hp even though you don't care about that.

LOL, I don't think that was a positive review of the exhaust.
