I never had my NT01 do that..... how old is the tire? has it been exposed to cold temp? did the guy who mount your tires have any experience with r-comp?

Does look kinda weird maybe something on the track when the tire was hot?

Mine don't do that, and I didn't even wear my last two sets in before a track day.
I use the first sessions to heat cycle them poorly and break them in hard and than use them very aggressively.
I can't even guess what that can be. What track is it? Are the corners rough with rumble strips made of cement like Road America? Maybe one sliced into it

Thanks for the responses. Never been in cold temps (live in AZ)

Discount tire mounted them. I think they have some experience with these tires. Is there something that I should tell the tire companies when they mount these??

Tire has only seen about 4 track days and I noticed this after Button Willow.

I thought the same that it might not be a big deal. I will keep my eye on it.

Doesn't look like cold tearing or blistering to me, my guess is that you ran over something you may not have noticed, look at how it goes across the sipes.

My Nt-01's suffered a similar cut after more first weekend with them. I haven't experienced any problems since.
