Covers

My new 135i is on the boat and I should get it within 2 weeks. Unfortunatley its relegated to the driveway. The garage is spoken for. Im thinking of getting a good, reasonably priced outdoor cover for it to throw on when snow is on the way. Any suggestions?

Depends on how much protection you need from snow/storms but I have always used Covercraft. Check out autoanything.com

Thanks, I'll keep that site in mind but I should have mentioned I would prefer something custom fit for the 1.

They are custom fit Enter your year and model and it will display all the ones custom designed for the 1er. I got a Covercraft in 1er specific application from that site.

My mistake. Thanks. How does the fit, finish and quality compare to the BMW outdoor cover if you know? Its listed in the 1 Parts Catalog for $219 including bag.

Not sure honestly, never used the BMW cover. I remember for the E46, BMW just rebranded the Noah car cover and upped the price. My only issue with the BMW car cover was that it had the BMW logo on it and would draw more attention than a blank one.

If you're going to be driving it regularly, you'll risk scratches if the cover or the car has any dirt and sand on it. I was going to get one for mine but decided against it for that reason. I found a few helpful threads here with a quick search.

I thought of that also. If I did get one it would only be used in real bad weather situations. I havent decided yet, do doing some pre arrival research.

I have one I've never used because my car is in a garage. I'll sell it to you for $100. I'm in NYC so you can pick it up. Here is the link to what I have:

I'm ordering the BMW cover for my 1, I think it's good to cover the car up in bad weather specially snow. for convertibles I think it's a must if car is not parked in a garage during snowy nights!
