someone just sold a dinan setup like this for around 1400 just this past week on here. Plus , Dinan was selling this for $1999 new on their website in December. Just a heads up.

You know, things are a little pricier in CND.

not with today's exchange rate. Our US dollar has been getting pounded the past couple of years. Canadian consumers have been getting great deals on US purchased goods lately.

I do not wish to hijack the thread, but you need to take into account the GST and QST or PST not to mention possible custom duties. And the starting price is also higher in CND even with "today's exchange rate."

OP, consider this a free bump.

I got a quote from dealer for this exhaust $2800 + labour(450) + GST(5%) + PST(BC7%). You can do the math.

Reasonable price for Canadian local buyer I would say.

2800? Wow...Dinan is selling it new for 2299 (US) in the states. Of course, no one should pay that given that Dinan was just selling it for 1999 in December...if you are going new, either use your CCA membership for the 10% discount at the very least...or wait until they drop the price again. 2299 (or 2800 for that matter in CAN) is ludicrous...

I'm afraid most of the buyers in the US aren't going to be as receptive at that price point, given that we all just saw a nice used one go for 1400 down here...just my 2 cents. Maybe he will find a CAN buyer though and gets what he wants... good luck!

Ya everything is ridiculously expensive here in this country and that is why I do most of my shoppings in USA if possible. these dealerships here wants $21.95/liter for the 10w60 that we use and charing $450 + taxes(12%) to mount on a set of tires on the 4 wheels. Maybe some other Canadian member can share some experiences, but my other friend who also had a e92 m3 got quoted $6000+ for replacing the clutch? I hope that was a joke@@

and by crossing the border I save 30 cent/liter on gas!

The clutch is not 6 grand, I can assure you of that. I had my tranny replaced under warranty and there was fear that I would have to change my clutch (thank God I didn't have too) and the cost was $1300 + labor = $1800 or so.

As for the $450 for changing tires, that's a rip off. I'd have to check on that.

To the OP, $2000 is a lot of money on that exhaust. The service manager at the dealer you work at, Canbec BMW in Montreal, offered me a much lower price and offered to ship it out to me for free. I counter offered him a price 5% lower than his offer and he said he would call me back in 15 minutes, that was 2 days ago. He even said he would send me photos of the chips in the ceramic coated tips by email, that as well was 2 days ago.

I also left him numerous messages and he never called me back. Not the greatest way to run a business in my opinion. At least call me back and decline the offer.

Either way, with the other Dinan selling here for $1400 just last week, I think you're way too high for this exhaust.

My offer still stands. Speak to your service manager about it and get him to call me back today or else I'm jumping on another exhaust.
