Question about a space between bumper and hood.
Okay I just got a new AW E92 M3. Woo hooo!! Anyways, so I first ordered a pair of matte black grilles. After I installed it last night, i noticed there was like a space between the driver side's bumper and hood, right next to the drier side's headlight. But there isnt a space on the passenger's side. So that's my question. Thanks guys!

You might want to look at the hooks that attach the hooks and adjust them. You just unscrew the clip that is attached to the hood and twist the hook one way or the other. This might help.

bumpers are adjustable. have your dealer make some changes to line it up better. not uncommon for it to be slightly uneven from the factory. a quick adjustment should fix that.

Does it look like this (passenger side)? Take it to the dealer, they will adjust the bumpers.

It's pretty easy to not get both sides of the hood fully latched
You normally need to give it a pretty good slam with your hands on both sides of the hood. If there's a bit of movement when you press down on the high side, it's probably not latched fully. Adjusting the bumpers can help.
The driver's side tends to be the problem (I think because of the hood vent sealing to the intake).

That's your hood, not the bumper; probably not latched properly since the gap with the fender is rather large. But the hood has adjustments in case it's truly out of whack. Just remember to screw the rubber 'bumpers' all the way in before screwing in the hood latch(es).
By the way, the bumper does NOT have adjustments. You can use some tricks, like shims, etc. for very minor differences, but that's different than an adjustment. |

Agree with drivers side being the culprit, at least on on my car. After showing the engine off to all my friends, it seemed to fix itself and closes equally on the first closing. Or maybe I've learned to close ir correctly. I worry about deforming that aluminum hood a little bit when I close it very hard.
