You should check YOUR state's Lemon Law. Most states require THREE repairs for the same saftey related item. That does mean you brought the car in for the same problem THREE TIMES. Once they "attemp" a repair, the clock starts counting down from three.
SIX TIMES for NON-saftey related item. Ie water leaks, electrical gremlins, ect. You might want to see the advice of a Lemon Law attorney. But my advice would be to make copies of your past service history and write BMW NA a nice(ly) worded letter. Just be to concise and to the point. And send THAT latter registered mail with return reciept. From my experience.... you should get an answer within a few days. I know my sister had BMW buy back her X5 due to of all things... a skipping rear mounted dvd player. I could not believe they did that! But ohh well... to each his own. A good friend of mine had a new C-class MB that the sunroof would leak rain water. He had it repaired six times. He wrote the letter on Monday. Mailed it reg mail out on Tuesday. Wednesday MB NA called to ask what he would like them to do. Money or a new car! By THAT Friday he was driving his NEW MB C-class! Not all cases are that quickly resolved, but most are fast. Then.... they(corperate NA) repair that car and sell it as a "used car"(probably at that same dealership) no disclosure nessary on used cars! lol Good Luck David |
