who says +32 offset doesnt fit!!

lol well sort of... I have been looking for rims for a long time, and all this offset thing has got me going crazy. So my buddy came over today to use the lift to do an oil change and while we were at it I asked to try his rims to see just how much of an offset that would never fit would actually not fit....

here are the rim specs.. 18x8 +32 front 18x9 +32 rear running a 225 tire all the way around.
I know because the tires are small it will fit well, but we did some measurements and I think a 245 would fit!! the rear

after trying these I think the offset I want which isnt even as wild will fit!!!!

sorry for the bad pictures.. I snapped them really quickly

I guess the term "fits" varies from person to person, however if you are looking for the Euro look then yes you have achieved that with a +32 offset.

Definitely not for me.

I think he means ultra stretched, with wheel lip beyond the fender, and a sidewall that's designed to be straight, but is at a very noticeable angle. That one looks like probably 40 degrees from straight...

FWIW, that's not my idea of "fitting" either.

offset of 37 (or 30 something) has been tried. fender cutting was needed. lowered of course with tires stretched.

Millimeters are smaller than we tend to think. Technically plenty of us have 9.5" rims with 45 offsets so really the rims are only 9mm or so further out (around 1/3 of an inch) and we are running wider tires.

What are you considering buying?

a lil more neg camber and the car lowered a tad more and it would look pretty bad ass

Yeah god forbid we see anything different, please go to a different forum and stop interrupting the pictures of CSL wheels.

If the car was low enough and you could get a 245 in the back with a little more neg camber it would look perfect.

i said MAYBE, good sir. and this is not me angry. angry is foolish on the internets. internets is for fun.

that's a 3 series vs a 1 series, but that gentleman is only running what appears to be the slightest bit of negative camber in the rear and he's tucking tire. i don't particularly care for the bit of stretch that's going on, but hey...win some, lose some. i simply can't stand the poked look, and no amount of camber, alignment, or toe is going to fix the fact that the offsets on those wheels are too low.

but this is ALL subjective anyway.

guys guys.... these arent even my rims. IDK how many times I have to say that.... I just wanted to see how a ridiculous offset would fit... I am lookin at either ordering a set of bbs re-v in about a year and the offsets are in the +30's or some vmr v701 in the next couple weeks with some coilovers so I just wanted to see what the offsets looked like.

the car is bone stock, with currently no suspension work.. does the car look a bit awkward with its stance, Yes. with some negative camber I think it would change it a lot; but r3negade is right seeing breytons and csl with normal offsets is getting boring... I am not going to order a new set of rims, just so I can pull into a target parking lot and see 3 other 1's with the same aftermarket rims... whats the point

i guess it is just a matter of opinion tho. If we didnt try to stretch the limits of what was possible everyone could enjoy +50 offset... horayyy
