2011 DCT Paddles

for those who think the new paddles with silver trim are not so nice....here are some pics..I actually think with all of the other chrome trim in the interior they are not ugly at all.......in fact I dont even notice them now after a few days behind the wheel.......I am still getting used to how close the paddles are to the other stalks on the steering column (directionals, cruise, wipers) but now even after a few days I am getting used to them (see side pictures)

Very nice. I happen to like those alot. They've been using those paddle more in the 6 series. Are they still attached to the steering wheel? Do you think people with step could swap out theirs for these?

Not unless you don't want to downshift anymore...

they are paddles... does anyone really care? People are so petty sometimes...

it's like when the 2010's came out all the 2008-2009 guys were like "OMG those mirrors are ugly.. EWWWWWW..." Yea, Whatever... I'll take a 2010 with the MSport package over the sleeker mirrors and a grey headliner. And the honest truth is, 99.99999% of the people will never notice these trivial details.

enjoy the car, no need to justify how your paddles look.

my question is can a simple software update make our current paddles act like the 2011. I really dislike thinking about push or pull. I dont need to swap out to have a + or a - , but would be nice if a patch can simply change the behavior.

they must move with the steering wheel. Can you imagine trying to shift while cornering and you had to awkwardly reach your fingers over. that would be dangerous.

I just wanted to point out the trim that I was talking about in your other thread (and, I'm guessing, the trim that dextran was talking about) is the thing that surrounds the shifter on the center console. It's silver regardless of what you get for the rest of the trim on the car, which, IMO, is kinda tacky. There's nothing wrong with silver paddles

Do you have to shift with the paddles or can you shift with the center stick as well?
