My new Hybrid washing system
So I've gotten my washing process down to less than an hour,
and that includes a full wash, dry, spray wax, wheel cleaning, tire dressing, exterior window cleaning, and all jams/shuts wiped down. I call it "hybrid" because I use Optimum No Rinse but I use the hose prior to wash the car down. What I'm doing is using ONR after doing a pre-soak with the hose. So I spray the wheels with cleaner, then soak down the entire car with the hose, paying particular attention to the wheels and inside the arches. After soaking the car, I pull it into the garage and wash the entire car with a cotton wash pad dipped in the ONR. I don't do a panel at a time, I do the whole car at once, takes about 5 minutes. Then I get 2 Waffle Weave towels and my bottle of spray wax. I use one WW to wipe down the entire front clip (hood and both fenders) until it's damp, spray the wax on and finish up with my second clean WW. I then do the door, rear fender, trunk and bumper, back down the other side, and finish with the front bumper. When I'm done, the first WW towel is pretty damp but not sopping wet by any means- the second WW towel is only slightly damp to the touch. At this point, I grab a dedicated wheel mitt and do each wheel individually with what's left of the ONR solution and then dry them. I open the doors and trunk and wipe down the shuts. I take a seperate cotton towel and dry the roof. Finally, I dress the tires and clean the windows on the outside. I will also shake off the mats and take the 2nd WW towel and quickly wipe down the inside. I've found this process to be relatively quick and easy, and the water doesn't seem to have the time to dry before I can get it with the towel. I do believe that I'm introducing slight micro marring to the surface but it's nothing major and I've learned to live with it. Here's a quick pic after a nice Friday night after work wash. Hope this method can help someone else!

I use Griots Garage brand spray wax. I wipe the cleaned panel once with a waffle weave towel, then lightly mist it with spray wax, and wipe the residue off with another waffle weave. Comes out nice.
