Exclamation Point!!!!!!

Well i just bought my car last week used.I noticed yesterday that next to where my milage is.Theres and exclamation like warning me something and a number.About every 3 or 4 miles the number goes up one.i noticed it when i got the car but no warning sighn but now it its there.Does anybody know what it might mean.Im hoping its nothing criticle?By the way the car runbs perfect and i havent nopticed any change in anything.thanks

Umm, I am thinking the numbers going up is your trip odometer. You can reset that by pushing the trip odometer reset button.

The exclamantion point means you need to service something, like washer fluid, oil life indicator, low on gas or whatever. Go through your engine checklist, it's in your manual on how to use it.

Its a countdown till your car blows up. All 135i's have them.

jk, what year is your car? Also, did you buy it used? Might just need to go in for scheduled service.

The ! means you've got an active warning, as mentioned above. Use the buttons on the turn signal stalk, and go into the menu and select "Check" and it will tell you what it is. It might just be a low fuel warning, or something silly like that.

yea like the car runs perfect and no it has gas yea i bought it used and its an 09.think might be the glass cuhz a rock just chipped right on top of my rain sensor so idk.but yea lemme check and it only goes up every like 3 to 4 miles.ima take it tomorow to go get serviced i guess.what do i do i just call and let them know im goin in?

yep, call them up and schedule an appt to drop off and get a loaner.

It will activate any time you turn on your DTC or if you do not have your belt done up!

Well thanks alot guys.After looking inside all i did was touch the trip restarter in the guages and it shut off so im thing it was just the miles from the trip going high but it shut off.thanks

try activating your DSC and watch the !point light up,it also comes on anytime your into low fuel mode
