Disable Warning Lamp chime?
First off, I know it's important. Hear me out. I'm going on a 9k mile road trip this Sunday. I took the 135i and had a courtest inspection done, took care of the HPFP issue, and they replaced the front brake pads.
I got it back and the ABS light went off about 4 times. I took it back and they said the left rear sensor is messing it up. No harm will be done, but it'll take 3-4 hours for them to get to my car tomorrow. I can't. I'm jam packed with errands. On the drive home it went off about ten times! Is there ANY way to disable the CHIME for my trip? I think it may just drive me insane. I do get to stay 4 days in L.A., so I can get it taken care of, but that's not til mid-June. Am I screwed? |

Yeah, I did.
Interestingly, I found a thread on another board where someone found where the chime speaker is. It's between the gas a brake pedal. He said he disconnected the speaker. I looked there and sure enough, encased in the panel above the pedals is a speaker cut out of sorts. I doubt I'll unscrew the panel to see if I can disconnect the speaker...but I wonder...what if I placed some sort of sound deadening material over the speaker area? I wonder if that would muffle the sound? |
