Who's got N55 performance parts on the way?

I hear Terry (BMS) is working on a new JB for the N55. Is anyone else making parts for it (tunes, intakes, BOV, FMIC... assuming they aren't the same as the N54, exhaust)?

Just curious what's gonna be out in the near future.

Since there's only one turbo theres only one inlet. Look at the airbox. Its similar to the 2.0T VW motor. Therefore there will never be a DCI. But no doubt there will be a cone intake fitted similar to the GTI.

It's gunna look like this probably.

yeah sorry I keep misusing DCI. I just mean a high pass foam filer/short ram intake/ cold air intake... whatever you wanna call it.

IMO if I had an N55 what id be interested in is creating an N55 version of a Mr. 5 Intake. [if you know what im talking about] and making the DIY part a CAI.

Hey maybe you should try it yourself I bet the gains would be pretty insane I mean rather than the N54 version which supplies two turbos with one drop in and one cone, you'd have the same thing supplying one turbo... If not you I think someone should do it.

You'd have to check out the airbox though, it looks quite different than mine so who knows.

You can already set the aFe scoops,as it fits on 2011 135i, well it's probably useless for performance, but in doubt...
Now, i'm waiting for a Dry S aFe drop in filter for the N55 (the only one i will fit because of the MAF (no oil))

I agree, as i wrote airscoops are probably useless...
Concerning the foam filter, it looks nice but there is oil on it and it's a risk to contaminate the maf with little drops of oil on it.

From looking at this picture, I believe companies won't only do the intake, but also the intake tubing that wraps around the left side of the motor in that picture. It seems a bit restrictive and I bet some power could be found there.

As far as the Rear Exhaust, the Active Autowerke Signature Exhaust fits the N55 1 series. Currently we are working on other parts for new N55 engine.

Working on getting the sound clips for the N55. Our N55 customer didn't have time to do a quick video but he will be back soon.

Is this a dry filter or an oiled one? If it is oiled, do you think it will cause the MAF or MAP (I can't remember which is which off the top of my head) sensor problems?

I believe the subject is the N55, which does have a MAF sensor. That said, I used an oiled K&N drop in on my 1.8T GTI for years without MAF problems. You do have to be careful not to overdo it.
