Detailer rec in the Long Beach, N OC area?
So can someone recommend a thorough and "detail" oriented professional in Long Beach/northern Orange County? My GF and I both work in Brea actually, so close to there or Long Beach would be ideal. I need to have some work done on my old car ('98 318ti) to clean up the paintwork. I really want to learn and would much prefer to tackle this myself but I simply don't have the time to do it properly on my own these days. I suppose that's the cost of making a living in SoCal. Thanks!

Talk to Envious Eric. I just enlisted him to fix my car next month. Comes to your place at no extra charge unlike others that want 100 or more to do that. He is reasonable on price as well for the level of work he does which is really great. He has a lot of before and afters at autopia.org Cool guy as well.

I know it was already stated but I would highly recommend contacting Eric as well. In case anyone is looking for his contact info or the quality of his work you can check him out here - http://www.enviousautodetailing.com/. If you use his services please let us know what your experience is when you get time.

So I got my car back yesterday and wanted to post here about my experience. I had Eric do a 3 stage job on the paint per his recommendation and a full exterior detail and skipped any interior work as the exterior stuff was already a lot more $ then I really wanted to spend. Total was $400 plus I gave him a modest tip. Probably should have given him more but I spent way too much money at the same time. I feel like I got very good value considering the amount of time he spent on it but this was the first time I've ever paid anyone to do this sorta work so I'll leave it up to you guys to tell me how this compares to other professional detailers in terms of rates.
As for the car, it really looks fantastic. Eric said he was able to recover the paint to about 90%. I think that's probably being conservative. 13 years of FL rain and CA roads had certainly taken it's toll but outside of the few deeper scratches and the typical nicks one might expect, the paint looks nearly new again. From a couple feet away you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference in most places. I'm certainly a happy current owner and my best friend (and soon to be new owner) is going to be thrilled when he sees just how great it looks. |
