They are both good OCC's The RSD was designed specifically for use on the BMW N54. It has a larger capacity, larger tubing, and larger fittings to keep from restricting flow. It was also designed with an opening to allow caught liquids to be extracted with supplied syringe so the unit does not have to be removed each time you service it.

Sorry for the newbish question but I wouldn't mind seeing a basic DIY guide or a copy of instructions. I've been putting this off for too long but I really need one.

i'm diggin' the use of a syringe to extract the caught oil, gonna have to keep debating if i should pull the trigger on this one.

i think the deal breaker for me though is if we can get confirmation that strut braces will clear the can...

U can pick up a syringe at a pharmacy for 10 cents to remove the oil and save a hundred bucks. This looks solid, clean install, and I am sure it is nice. But IMO it is not worth that much when bsh can is virtually the same.

I know of at least 3 other folks just waiting to hear whether or not a strut brace clears before they pull the trigger on this. I guess I make 4.

I guess it would depend on the brace, which one are you running?

I'm running the JIC Cross Brace. I know it fits the BMS DCI and Riss Racing Oil Catch Cans without problems but I like this one better.

I lifted this picture and it shows one of the others in place...
