ESS Tune !!

So finally i got the software.
After talking and asking a bunch of guys on the forums and meets, found that the most reliable tune is through ESS.Spoke with Roman a couple of times and he was very helpful.
so i sent out my ECU on Mon and i got it back on wed.got it installed in the car and my first impression was that the car idles very smoother than before.took the car for a ride and didn't really get on it till i put some miles on it.drove the car about 100miles and it felt totally different after the driving period.the car was completely transformed.the RPM climbs up very quick and smoother than before, great power band through all the gears.very noticeable driving performance gains.
Didn't get a chance to Dyno the car but i will next week.i also have a Dinan intake,Challenge Xpipe, Evo sport pulley and Gintani axle back.
i Dyno'd my car before getting the software and put down 375.6whp and 280tq at the wheels.will update this post next week when i get my car on the Dyno.

So i got my car back on the Dyno and i put down 404whp,300wtq.

How did you install the software? did you go to a specialist or can you do it yourself?

I drove IMG's car before and after the tune , very impressive to say the least !Car feels light and strong , tires are loose in 1st and 2nd gear which impressed me !!
Funny thing is i Went the supercharger route cause the chip i had was putting me in limp and rich fuel codes , if i had experienced this ESS tune i prob, would have never gotten the supercharger....

But i'm not gonna lie i so Glad i did , heheheh

I believe it's basically cat and un-catted tune. That's pretty much it. You can squeeze a bit more power from removing cats and software.

We have a tune designed to optimize the performance of the Akrapovic Evolution HFC exhaust system. This tune was also designed to allow the Evolution exhaust system to be OBD emissions compliant in states that require it.

Does that mean states that check OBD readiness? If so, that's great news and gets me one step closer to getting the Akra exhaust.

Cheers.

IMG is one of my good friends and we both decided to get the ESS Tune. I was very leary at first because...lets face it.. this engine/car is more than I ever expected right out of the box! I will forever be a BMW fan and I could have left it completely stock and still smiled everytime I drove it. But..I am an individual and with that comes the desire to be unique. I chose each modification thus far wisely and through my research and conversations with many, I felt ESS's reputation was solid and they stood behind their products.

Removed the ECU and sent it out to Roman to complete the tune. I don't have and x-pipe, pulleys, intake..etc. Just a Gintani catback exhaust (love it) and an MS Filter. The tune was completed to include or accept those mods should I choose to add them in the future. My other mods are cosmetic. Received the ECU two days later. Initially came back from vacation and took the car for a cruise around town. I think smoother (including the idle)explains it best which is probably why it has been used often to describe it. I would add overall... much more alive. I got on it alittle in first and noticed a definite power increase where before the car seemed eager to /need/want me to shift into second.. now it pulled harder. Movement in the tires noticed throughout rpm band. Shift to second... pulled very hard and tires again alittle squirrely.... then chirped third easily. This didn't happen before for me so right off the bat I was surprised and impressed. I came home and was like.. "ok.. till later... when I take you to work"!

50 mile round trip ...all highway. Car felt awesome. Pulled harder in all the gears. RPM's definitely climbed quicker. Very smooth and the car felt solid. You can def feel a difference in the ass dyno.

So.... I haven't gone 100 miles yet let IMG related, but so far it was well worth the investment. Props to ESS for living up to their rep and providing a tune that feels safe, reliable, and compliments this car very well.

So how much gains (power & torque) can someone expect with your tune over the Akrapovic Evolution HFC exhaust system? Also, does your software eliminate the CEL and the speed limiter?
