Wetterauer Engineering GmbH ???
Hi Guys,
Have anyone ever heard of these guys? Wetterauer I found a small ad for them in Auto Motor und Sport. Their tune is a pittle bit prciey too at 1,900 euros. I would go with Alpina before spend that many euros with them. I was just curious bc I have never heard of them before. 265 kW / 360 hp at 4500-6400 rpm 480 Nm at 3500-5000 rpm 280 km/h http://www.wetterauer.de/w_content/i...php?language=2 Wetterauer Engineering GmbH Ernst-Abbe-Straße 4 D-56070 Koblenz for point of refference here are the specs of a stock 135i 225 kW / 306 hp at 5800-6250 rpm 400 Nm at 1300-5000 rpm 250 km/h |

Yes, Wetterauer has a good rep and is a well-known chip tuning option on the VW boards. Kind of pricey and usually not the most power, but they are seen as a quality tuner.

Be aware that vmax delete is 999 Euros alone so may be you can get the tune with vmax intact for less.

Sorry I still don't know about Wetterauer. The major flash tunes are from people like:
Digi-Tech TecTech SKN I went with: www.MS-Tuning.de Mainly because so many guys on the www.1erforum.de have had positive feedback with dealing with Marcel and his flash tunes. I am really happy I went with MS Tuning. For under 1K euros, I have 380 PS and a ton of torque. No codes thrown and no engine check lights, no idle problems, it just plain works! And a V-max over 285-ish. SO far I have only gone to 280kph. Also my fuel economy is slightly better by 0.5 L/100kph when driving slow. Got my car tuned/flashed in Germany… http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...man+flash+tune |

Marcel told me he has tuned over 130+ 135i's so far. And quite a few 125i's for 130i power level. All the guys on the www.1erforum.de seemed reallt happy with his tuning. And over almost a year Marcel put up with all my various Q's about his tune. He really seems to know the x35i engines well. That includes N54 and N55 alike. I would give him a shot. Atleast talk to him. Dackel |

Everything you could want to know about Marcel's flash tune is here...
Got my car tuned/flashed in Germany… http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...man+flash+tune I got Marcel's stage-II tune... Stage II: 380 PS and 520 Nm of Tq. Boost pressure 0.95 Bar Sine we don't need TUV nor have to pay VAT... Marcel can make you a "special price". For not much more money then you would pay for say a piggy tune... I have a flash tune that works with no headaches or hickups. I really am enjoying Marcel's work. Dackel |

But ill keep at it since he seems extremely informed on 35i's, hence he recommended 360 max for N55, not rambling on like other tuners with 390+ Thank you for the write up! |

The problem is Marcel's English is limited... and he has to spend a lot of time translating from English to German and back to English. And some of the techincal words are difficult for Germans to understand. I think that is why he is keeping his replies short with you. Not because you are American, but its more the language thing. Marcel can speak English fine, it is in writting that it becomes more harder for him I think. But still... Marcel and I exchanged emails for almost a year before I went with his tune. Like I said I am happy with his service. Dackel |

^^Yup! And that Wagner FMIC is nice bc it is really a "plug and play" unit from what Marcel told me. No real cutting required. He said you need to trim a 2mm by 1m long part from the inside of the bumper cover... but you can use a box cuter to do that. And it just goes up inside the stock front bumper cover. I think on one side you have to trim the rubber hose a cm or two - as well. But not the major cutting like some of the FMIC kits I have seen.
Btw... Marcel also has other SW tune that once you have a FMIC (any brand) you can safely run more boost. He has some stage-III SW tunes as well. |
