What SS brake lines do you all suggest?
Fella's,
So there are a few different name brand SS brake lines on the market. Which do you all suggest are the best for the $$, installation, performance, etc? Also which brake fluid to go with for street/track use? Don't need anything strictly track and of course that won't mess up the brake and clutch system components. Thanks! Cheers |

thanks fella's.
I remember reading something about the rear lines actually have 4 that can be replaced with SS lines and some kits only provide two front/two rear and the other two connecting brake lines would end up staying rubber. Is that correct and if so, then what kits will replace ALL the lines? I did some searches but don't have the details down yet. Cheers, |

STALKER, you've had TWO BBK's?
I can confirm Stoptech only gives you one set of rear lines. The other set are pretty short and a little harder to get to, but many have said it's do-able. Stoptech said you'd have to drop the rear subframe to get to them, but that's just not true.

I used Bimmerworld's lines before I got my BBK since they provide all 6. When I installed my StopTech kit, only 4 lines were provided for the calipers. The two "inner" rear lines are still the Bimmerworld lines.

Cool, thanks fella's
by the way, are all these SS brake lines have the same thread pattern? If I got UUC lines or Stopteck for example, then later got a BBK from APracing or Brembo, would they thread on and torque correctly with no fitting issues? Or should I wait until I know what BBK I'll go with? |

Just installed my Challenge SS lines yesterday and what a difference! Large improvement in pedal feel over stock. This set comes with middle lines also for a total of 6.
Went with ATE Super Blue fluid. Came highly recommend by our local BMW tuner Orr Autosport. I DD and track my car. Highly recommended on both items.

Final question all,
What brake pads for street/track do you all recommend to complement the SS lines? I know I've brought this issue up before but sounds like everyone I talk to has something positive & negative on each brand of pads. I'm looking for pads that will allow the pad sensor to connect to, normal to hard street use & pads that will at least hold up better on the track than stock pads. What do you all suggest? |

I would use those as they work well on the street, providing more stopping power, and once they heat up on the track, you'll get even more braking power. |

The cool carbons aren't bad for a street/track pad. They work fine on the street, and don't squeal. They fade less than OEM pads, but they do fade a fair amount. Also, be very careful when they're cold on the track as they don't have much bite when they're cold. I had a couple OHH SH!!!T moments on the track with them when they're cold.
