OS Updates

It used to be that you could download updates for the DVD-based Nav units and update the OS yourself. Is this still possible? All the updates i find (v32 is the latest) are for the old Nav units. How do you update the os on i-drive Nav systems? Also, can you still download map updates?

You can still download and install the map data on the '09 and newer. You need a new DVD that costs about $7 and an enabling code that costs about $200.

The 2009 and newer have the harddrive based nav. The DVD set part number should be 01990037287 and costs $7.12 at Tischer. The enabler code is part number 65902159305 and costs $183.20 at Tischer. The update process takes several hours and can't be interrupted. Usually the procedure is to connect a special battery charger to the car during the update. There are some images of the update here -> http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=124.

Yes, if the M3 was manufactured before September 2008.
