Squeaking left turns....
Ok so after some decent time spent with my new M and about 1000 miles on the clock, i can see how powerful this beast is at just 5000rpm.....at the same time, i alsoI noticed an annoying creaking/squeaking sound coming from somewhere in the back seat area behind the driver's side ONLY during hard left turns and freeway ramps or Bridges that curve to the left.
As I accelerate thru the apex of the curve, the car takes it with ease but produces this cheap squeaking or creaking sound directly behind me. Sounds like I'm sitting in an old wooden chair and when u rock it back and forth the joints creak. This is very annoying. I don't mind rattles and all the small things but squeaks just cheapen the whole experience. I've tried unlatching the fold down seats and putting them back in but still get noise. I looked back there and everything is covered neatly and can't possibly produce this metal sounding squeak. I had the windows rolled up so I'm pretty sure it's from inside the cabin. Does anyone know how the hell to fix this? When I look back there, I can't possible imagine anything squeaking. Everything looks tight snug and in place. Anyone else have this? Thx for ur feedback |

i hear zero on slow turns...if i accelerate from a standstill to make a hard/sharp left hand turn, i hear this on the interior back seat behind me...windows down, i hear nothing but road noise which makes me think its from the inside somewhere thats loose.

You can easily hear diff noises with windows closed. The other possibilities are brake disc covers (although those were fixed in mid-'09), and a loose upper rear shock mount, which is right in the area you mentioned. I'd get somebody on the right rear seat with the left rear seat folded down, and it'd should be obvious where the noise is coming from. Good luck, and keep us posted.
