Midpipe with 4 resonators?
Just wondering if anyone had an exhaust (catless or HFC) that they thought was too loud, and welded an extra set of resonators in (IE. Vibrant, etc.)
How did this affect the sound? Did performance stay the same? I'm planning to weld in resonators where the front cats would've been; in between the primary and secondary O2 sensor bungs.. There's no problem with the material (fiberglass?) burning out in this location so close to the headers, due to high heat right? Thanks! |

The Borla mid pipe comes with 4 resonators. I actually removed the front two and installed HFCs in place of them, because I was getting unburnt fuel and brown smut all of the back of my white car! Now the back of my car is clean again and doesn't require the use of a degreaser to clean it every week.
In your case though the sound will not change much nor will it affect performance.

If you want to kill (reduce) the sound, get good quality brand resonators, not like 20 bucks cheap resonators. I had tried cheap 20 bucks resonators with 60 bucks labor for each resonators (I installed two resonators on my G35 Coupe with custom exhaust.) and sound did not change.
(I miss my G....) Adding resonators will not affect a lot...
