Coolant Flush for us?
I couldn't find a DIY. I'm mostly interested in getting any particulate matter and hard water deposits out. My resevior tank looks a little crusty.
I found this proceedure, but I'm not sure which plug to loosen in order to drain. The block or the blue radiator plug? I plan on refilling with distilled water and driving, then doing then draining again and refilling with 50/50 BMW coolant. Here's the "electric" way of doing it: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143273 Here's the drain and refill method I found: http://www.impee.co.uk/radiator_flush.htm Any help and pictures is appreciated. -V Last edited by santov; 02-11-2011 at 11:10 PM.. |

Awesome! The first diagram with instructions was really helpful. I added them to my Evernote for future reference.
I'm curious about the service mode for the electric water pump. That way I don't have to disturb the aluminum bolt in the block. Has anybody tried that? |
