Mustang Guy
Has anyone else had this experience?
You're cruising along the highway or city street and a Mustang (any type but generally the newer ones as the classics seem to be driven by more respectful and courteous drivers), either from behind or next to you, starts revving and wants to flex before trying to fly by you (especially on the highway). I usually just let it go as I'm not big on endangering others and encroaching their drive space (as they may panic and hit their brakes which may indirectly lead to an accident, etc.). Just pisses me off. I get that these things happen when you drive a Z4, especially an M, but it seems like Mustang Guy does this more often than any other guy. Almost as if the car itself attracts a certain driver personality. I've taken a couple out when it was safe to do so, but damn. Leave me alone, Mustang Guy. |

Funny, I run across those Mustang tards often. Lots of 350Z guys too. And almost always on a semi-crowded freeway. WTF are these assclowns thinking?

I had a Vette before the Z4. The Z4 hardly attracks the hammerheads like the vette did. Not even a close comparision. With the Z4 the idiots are a lot fewer. I do run across the occasional one though. At least round here, for me, Mustang owners are no worse the others.

I enjoy mustang guy.. I usually see it as his way of respecting my car. I play around for a little, but i dont do highway pulls or whatever. Nothing wrong with a friendly show of force I'm not in it to race, but the M with 275ish rwhp isnt really that much these days. Any $13,000 terminator would eat our car, but i always thought owning a zedM was a different experience entirely. more like owning a vintage ferrari. Fast and beautiful, but not anything spectacular by todays performance standards.

if the z4m falls to an m3 with 414bhp, the 600bhp+ vipers will surely be your daddy. and even the 1st gen vipers had 400+bhp, with the same, if not less, weight than our cars. |

^ This. Personally, I think Infiniti drivers are some of the worst out there. I'd also add in their M37 and M56. The latter have big #'s on paper for hp and torque (also curb weight) and they are decently fast for what they are, but c'mon...let's not be stupid.

Actually, I have found this behavior from time to time. It seems that folks in other "sports cars" are keen to demonstrate the "superiority" of their ride.
I really could care less. The fact that they feel the need to do this shows just who is driving the nicer car, IMHO. I did have one guy blow by me in a Mustang one day when he knew I wasn't watching him. Whoop de doo! They're just a bunch of horses' arses! Cheers!!

Tons of truck drivers around here like racing for some reason, both in my truck and in my Zed. I do get a lot of Mustangs as well but not much else.
The thing that I find the most sad is that I even get some cars (corvettes mostly) that try and race me when I am on my R6. Haha, fat chance baldy.

american muscle don't bother me, in fact its probably b/c they know they could take me straight line. but i do get the revving from the suburbans/denalis and then the civic/sti/350/370z crowd.

I just let them go. I feel honored that my car sticks out to them and let them act like a complete douchbag. No point on getting a ticket or hurting others just because someone doesnt have brains.
The ones that annoy me the most are the Civics with just an exhaust and intake. Your car is annoyingly loud, not fast. The charger V8 only 370 hp with a body that looks like it weighs 5 tons and 22 inch chrome rims and wanna be maserati side vents But i agree on todays standard horsepower that will eat our cars. But it doesnt mean they as are fun to drive. |

I don't agree that today's "standard" HP will "eat our cars". I think our power-to-weight ratio has almost everyone beat. I think you guys aren't trying hard enough. Sub 5-sec 0-60 and a top speed of ? (de-limited) and you'll roast most of what's out there. Especially if there happens to be any twistees. It's not like we were conceived in the stone age. Any douche company can slap a turbo on. Rant complete
