Seriously.... 3.0si exhaust setups?
Haha So I've had my z for a bit now, and I want to start adding some things to it.
one being exhaust and possible intake. I know there are not many exhaust options. I've read a few threads about getting a system built from magnaflow parts... Folks who have an SI - what are your thoughts? Can you point me in the right direction |

Check here
http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=475677 I apologize for the thread getting ugly but it gets annoying when people refuse to search, or ask to be spoon fed. In terms of intakes, not really much out there besides Afe and the gains on that is really questionable. Z4M guys swear it but if you check e90post, both the n52 and n54 crowd report mixed results. I'd stick with the stock airbox, and if you want more sound pull out the sound generator. Although as great as it sounds, on cold startups it sounds really unrefined during the time it takes for the car to warm up. But once she's fully warmed up, sounds pretty darn nice. Gruppe M is pretty awesome but it's more bling than anything, it won't function any worse than the stocker, and it might yield few hp at peak but nothing noticeable. I think the consensus is the n52 is pretty maxed out from factory and if you want any decent gains, your best bet is to get the AA tune and change your gearing. |

Dubbedown - thanks for the reply and link. I have not removed the sound generator, I plan on testing that out when the car gets pulled out.
GomboRombo - I like loud. - I had an Altima SER a few months before the Z, I loved how that thing sounded. |

I moved directly from a Civic to a Z4, and loves it! Although, mods cost 100x as much from my experience. I had done a ton of fairly cost effective mods on the Vic but almost nothing so far on the si.
As dubbed said, performance wise it gets expensive for gains.

for performance, as you said that's yet tbd but most likely we can assume that wont be the case, as no aftermarket exhaust has shown gains on the n52. the bmw pe shows marginal gains on the e90s. |
