Debadge it or not?

Just wanted some opinions. Saw a debadged 3 series on the road yesterday and thought it looked super clean. On the other hand I get a lot of compliments on the shadowline badge... quite the dilemma.

Debadge! I'll be doing mine soon too. Just look at the left and compare it to the right, looks so much cleaner without the badge there.

debadging , IMO, 'cheapens' the car. aren't you proud of the 1? my vote would be for shadowline or matched

I would only de-badge if it said 128i

sport your 135i proudly!

Leave it on unless u don't want ppl 2 know ur driving a 128i. Beside I got the same thing as u, the shadowline badge but my car is space grey. And while I was in Canada (Nov 2010) I looked down frm my hotel window & there's a guy actually trying to see what is my model #

I de-badged my 135i and it leaves people guessing what you're actually driving if they don't know anything about the car (for example its obvious its a 135 from the diffuser).

I think it looks insanely clean, id say go for it.

There was a thread made about this yesterday I think, but anyway.

Almost no one knows what a 1 series is, let alone what the 35 after the 1 signifys. I've had people ask if it's the new m3, ask what 3 series it is, etc etc. Anyone in the know will understand it has a turbo, but also anyone in the know will be able to identify a 128 or 135 without a number on the back.. There are a slue of differences. I can easily tell a 28 and 35 apart, even from a distance.

De-badge makes it look much cleaner, and gives it a more exclusive look IMO. Most won't have any idea what the car is, even with the '135i' on the back, might as well leave them completely confused with no badge at all.

My 135...debadged...well, almost

couldn't help but put the Nurburgring decal on there....I pulled the 135 off to replace with shadowline but liked it nude so left it that way...keeps people guessing especially after I get my tune and start blowing the doors off more $$$$ cars.

Front bumper and rear bumper are easily identifiable from a distance. 135 has an instantly more aggressive look. Black tips on 135, polished on 128, tire size, exhaust note. Most of these can be noticed before 2 small numbers.

Oh and the stupid grin on the 135 drivers face, not that the 128 isn't loads of fun as well.

Debadging is a German fetish

If your in the USA, don't do it. It makes me feel the owner screwed up something on the badge and had to take it off.
