Where are the 1Ms going?

Would be interesting to pool our information and work out where the 1Ms are going.

For example:

UK: 450
Australia: 100 (plus may get some of Japan's allocation)
France: 100
Switzerland: 100
Sweden: 30
Canada: 200, I think?
USA: approx 650?
South Africa: 50?

Surely places like Germany and China get a fair few? This is very quickly going to add up to the 2700 figure we have seen...

That's exactly what I was thinking, Way. Seems pretty easy to get to at least 2,700. Wouldn't you think that Germany would get as many as the UK?

So, when you get it, would you be up for a photo shoot? Like at Red Rocks. I'm always looking for new locations.

Sure thing, although, I have not put a deposit in for it yet. I am waiting to see how things play out with this new 1M. There might be a couple others on this forum, in Colorado, that may get theirs before I will.
Deer Creek canyon is another good place for photoshoots. That is where I did a photoshoot of my old Copperhead Viper. Great place to ride (motorcycles) too

I don't want to sound alarmist, but if you're not in an order bank (w/deposit) it might be tough or impossible to actually buy a new 1M.

You're probably right SamS but, I think I will still wait. As discussed in other threads, we have seen MAJOR hype from new cars before. Even from one of my own personal cars in the past (personal experience). I think I am trying to be optimistic about this one as well. I might never be the owner of one of these 1M's and I am ok with that. Even though other cars might not have the exclusivity factor that this 1M might have, there are still plenty of M3's and 911 turbo's to choose from

China, Brazil & Russia?

BMW M GmbH sales significantly higher in 2010. Boom in demand makes China fourth-strongest market

BMW M GmbH concluded the 2010 business year with a significant boost in sales. In a year marked by far-reaching changes in the model portfolio, the number of BMW M car sales rose by 14.2 percent to 16,967 units. Overall, worldwide growth in demand for high-performance sports cars, M Sport packages, exclusive special options from BMW Individual as well as driving experience training courses contributed to this positive development. Considerable growth impulses are also anticipated for 2011 thanks to an extended M Sport package and BMW Individual product range and the launch of the BMW 1 Series M Coupé, which takes the company into a new vehicle segment. Beyond this, the development of special task and security vehicles based on current BMW production models will also fall within the remit of BMW M GmbH in future.

The 14.2 percent global growth in new car registrations posted by the BMW AG subsidiary last year bears witness to the enduringly strong fascination exerted by these high-performance sports cars. The production phase-out of the BMW M5 and BMW M6 models was more than compensated for by a consistently high demand for the BMW M3 and the newly introduced all-wheel-drive models BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M. Yet again the BMW M3 demonstrated its status as the most popular ambassador for the M ethos. Worldwide, 5,729 units of the BMW M3 Coupé were sold, to which were added 2,544 units of the BMW M3 Convertible and 1,843 BMW M3 Saloons. Sales of the BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M totalled 2,778 and 3,082 respectively.

The most important single market in 2010 was once again the USA, where overall BMW M car sales rose by more than 6 percent to 6,821. The number two sales region, as before, was the German domestic market with sales of 1,716 cars, followed by Britain and Northern Ireland with 1,264 units. The most dynamic growth by far was seen in the Chinese car market, where sales rose by 355 percent to 1,088 units, making China the fourth-strongest market for BMW M cars. BMW M GmbH also registered outstanding growth rates in Brazil (+ 237 percent) and Russia (+ 104 percent).

If I decide to opt out, you are welcome to take my spot on the list at Ralph Schomp.

The high jump in sales in China is evidence of why the BMW M5 Concept debuts in Shanghai in just over a months time.

But stay tuned for the official announcement in early April.

Yes for the highly priced models like the 760Li,X5M and X6M and should be applying on the M5 too. However 135i is not officially for sale in China now,so did the Z4M.

Not much Mainland Chinese knows how to drive in a proper way,not to mention enjoying the joy of driving, but they care whether the price tag is high enough or the car is big enough for their 'faces'. Therefore I doubt whether 1M would be allocated to China for public, maybe only for the M Training sessions.
