235/255 RE-11s or stock RFTs?

I'm buying a low mileage used 135i. The owner has given me a choice of tires.

Stock run flats with ~2K miles on them

or

RE-11s with under 1K miles on them.

No brainer, RE-11s, right? The caveat is they are F: 235 and R: 255 on the stock 261M 18" wheels.

I thought I read that 235 is too wide for the stock front rim. I'm also questioning the wisdom of running such tires on the street, but I suppose I could always go down a size with my next set of tires.

He said there is no rubbing and I believe him, but I'm questioning whether I would be better off getting the stock run flats. But I think that would be a dumb idea given the choices of rubber.

Can anyone offer any advice?

I've seen 235 fit w/o issues,no spacers, no rub, as long as the car is at stock height. I don't know about you but I'll take the RE11 even if I's told it rubs like mad over pos RFT lol.
if it indeed rubs, it's not hard to fix. M3 control arms and/or camber plates, or maybe just needed a fender roll.

The electronic diff, which is just the brakes trying to act like a limited slip.

Mixing RFTs with normal tires is not advised, the different sidewall stiffness will result in odd handling. Just replace all four, you won't miss runflats.

Huh? No mixing. He has two full sets of tires and is offering me a choice. The non run flats seem bigger than I've seen others run.

It has the BMW Performance suspension, not sure if that remains same as stock height.

Regardless, I'll go with the RE-11s. Thanks

RE-11 235/40/18 and 255/35/18 Tires

This is the exact set up I have on my 2008 135i Dinan. I have no issues with any rubbing and have the additional benefit of having a little more curb rash protection. Another side benefit is they look aggressive and fill the fender wells better. Good luck

I'd take the much more expensive run-flats. The rears will be worn soon enough and you could do a proper swap out next spring.

The car I'm buying has the performance suspension. The current owner said they do not rub (and I believe him). I'll know for sure in 7 days when I pick it up.
