Thinking about trading E90 for 2011 Z4is!
Im thinking about trading in my 2010 335i sedan for 2011 Z4is!
The only thing the Z4 doesnt have is the navigation/i-drive! Has anyone given up i-drive? and is it worth ordering the car just for that option? Im worried ill regret that navigation, but almost dont want to wait 2 months for order to come in. Any advice would be great! Thank You! |

I opted not to get the nav or i-drive and haven't needed either. My Garmin nuvi works fine from the slot forward of the shift lever and cost 1/10 of what BMW wants for nav. The missing i-drive knob gives me a place for change/misc items in the center console.

I would go for it I just traded in my 2011 mustang gt which I only owned for 5 months for a z4 and couldn't be happier. As for the I drive I have never thought it was necessary on any of the BMW's that I have owned. When you are driving it around you will forget all about the I drive.

Don't have i-drive/nav and so far not missing it. However we bought a dealer demo for a smoking price. If I were to order I would opt for it.

don't forget, idrive also allows you to store music on the hard drive.
2 months will be over in no time...and you at least have a 335i to enjoy while you wait. also a new colour may be available very very soon (mineral white - which is a pearlescent colour previously available on M3 ...design pure balance i think) ..so I would say order to the spec you want, unless you get a really good deal on a stock car. |

Nice feature, but I have all my music on an iPhone and large capacity USB thumbdrive. I usually just leave the thumbdrive in the car. |

listen, it is a long story but I have owned a 2009 Z4 35i without Nav/iDrive and we own a 2010 35i with Nav/iDrive - order the Nav because although the Nav is not that great, the iDrive is awesome and a huge plus to this car; especially with your ipod hooked up and your phonebook!!!

I have an '09 and no Nav , I figured I'd kill myself playing with the iDrive while driving . Some days I wish I had the iDrive capabilities but most times I don't even think about it.
I prefer my Garmin GPS to the NAV system but I do like the iDrive functions AND I would order it with the system next time. (if there is a next time)

I don't know too much about idrive but if you like fooling around w/ menus, then I guess you'd miss it...still, besides the music storage capability, I don't think that there's anything substantial vs a Z4 w/o it. A minor consideration is that the nav/idrive screen takes up the storage compartment on the dash.
I really don't like any car's built-in nav because it's bound to be more in price but inferior in quality-features/expandability. Needless to say, I don't miss either. |

Ive been driving the Z4.35i for the weekend.
Loaded car ... Silver with Red leather! Sweet and Classy. What is the true difference with the "IS" beside the extra horsepower? I feel like this is a nice z4 but wondering if i will really need the IS? I would order White with Black Leather vs the Silver/Red on the 35i. Thanks again! |

To me, the Nav was not a necessity, but the i-drive was... I opted to order the car just for that i-Drive/Nav... I waited a painful 6 months. But I am glad I was patient and did what I did...

The price of the 35i is $67,500
the IS is $73,000 I love the sound of the IS but i think the Silver with Red on the 35i is more attractive! The white with black on the IS would be more typical IMO. Im going to have the dealers run the figures and decide quick! thanks for all the advice! |
