A little rant to start the week

On Friday evening I went to my local Smoothie King and when I came out there were 2 guys in their late 20's standing at the back of my car talking. One of them put his drink on my trunk with his keys! Unfortunately, I have a bit of a temper and I yelled at them, "It's not a fucking coffee table". One of the idiots retrieved his stuff and from the way I was moving towards them they both decided to leave. Jesus Christ, what is wrong with people? I would never dream of being that inconsiderate. Fortunately, no damage. Rant over.

yah I did that once too, but they were leaning on it, and not putting things on it, as if it was their car, I was like wtf

I normally don't respond to rant threads, but, had this happened to me, I probably would have reacted in a way that made your reaction seem pleasant and welcoming.

People today are very inconsiderate, and its starts with SHIT ASS PARENTING. My wife is a guidance counselor in a high school, and parents and the whole system create reasons why its never the responsibility of the kid. They grow up thinking they can do no wrong, and that the world is theirs, we are just living in it. They then go to college (where my sister works) and assume that as long as they graduate there should be a 60k+/yr job waiting for them and that employers should feel honored to have them. Then they assume that since they have worked SO HARD for SO LONG at age 23 that they deserve a 70k sports car or SUV. But since they are not greedy, they are willing to settle for a 3 bedroom 350k townhouse

Reality, its not just a place they talk about in books.

One of my biggest petpeeve is for people to be disrespectful of other people's property. Why I always park away from other people. You have the right to be mad, trust me I would be pissed.

Another thing i always make sure of is that when I do park, I make sure I go to a place that has windows where I can get a full visual of the car then watch it from inside so I can respond quickly to any tool.

One time the wife and I went to a dine out and I couldn't see the car while we were eating. I lost my appetite in the middle of our meal and we packed it up Togo and left.

From now on when we go to fine dining restaurants, I just drive my 22 year old camry and let them valet it. At least the valet won't expect a big tip.

You were in the right and rather pleasant. It would have been nice if you were able to drive off with asshat's keys on your trunck lid. Watching him chase you down the street from your rear view mirror would have put a smile on my face.

WOW!! You hit the nail smackdab right on the head my friend.
The wife and I were recently at a local starbucks (which we frequent just to read some mags for free

) by st johns university in ny.It tends to have a lot of little spoiled brat students hanging out. My wife who is an RN and I were sitting down and happen to over here these kids sitting behind us talking about how they will be making some rediculous purchases upon graduation. They spoke with this tone of as you properly stated "ENTITLEMENT" mentioning how they are tired of studying and how they have sacrificed their "YOUTH" for their education and that others who have not done similar dont deserve to have nice things.
It really cracked us up just listening to them.
