San Diego Palomar Mountain Run (Tight Side)

Hi Guys,

Just got my M3 2 days ago and would like to see how much better it is than the Evo X MR I traded it for on my favorite San Diego road - South Grade Road on Palomar Mountain.

If anyone is interested, please post up here and we can determine a meeting place and time.

7 miles of turns and 3,280' of elevation change are calling your name...

I don't have PM capability yet but I'm thinking maybe Monday instead since the weather report looks better for Monday than Sunday.

Still have decided on Sunday or Monday. I'm pretty flexible - what time / day can you make it?

Crimson92 can only do Sunday - would be nice to have a few M3s on the mountain.

Down! I was just there a few weeks ago and would be interested in a group run up there! I had an STi and the M is definitely a different beast.. For all the SD guys, theres a certain gas station by the beach that sells 100 octane.. I filled up there before the run and the M ran magnificently.. Just a thought..

Man... we should have run our previous cars (I had an Evo X MR) on Pally...

Agreed - the M is a totally different animal. I'm much slower on it though since I suck at heel-toe shifting.

The earlier the better. Maybe meet up, grab coffee, and roll before 8:30 am would be good.

I understand that most people here don't get up too early, but it makes a big difference when you get there early and the roads are virtually empty. I usually run canyons on Sat or Sun before 7:30am for optimum conditions.

What time were you thinking?
